Plug and Abandonment Engineer
Purpose of job : The position has responsibility to perform the plug and abandonment program, setting up the criteria or bid process for selection the appropriate contractor, project management and control for both Bangkok office and on site, site supervision and providing the project closed out report once the project completed. While on a contract period, the plug and abandonment engineer reports to Project Manager who has the responsibility for project management and control.
Main Responsibilities :
Lead and execute well plug and abandonment projects, in compliance with regulatory guidelines and policies and procedures. This will include but will not be limited to P&A design, programme development, procedural compliance, cost control and supporting operations.
Accountable for the planning, support, execution & wrap up of the assigned plug & abandonment activities & campaigns.
Accountable for setting up well integrity and abandonment guidelines together with the steering committee.
Provide technical inputs and actively participate in tool and device selection for P&A operations.
Create Technical Justifications and Technical Reports Responsible for planning risk assessment and recommendations that will minimize the impact of contaminants.
Responsible for Plug & Abandonment (P&A) activity and is critical for the planning and delivery of the P&A plan in a safe and efficient manner.
Develop procedures and work schedules for safe plug & abandonment operations.
Prepare all required P&A engineering documentation to use for the project and government approval.
Perform the documentation for submit to the government for approval.
Participate with the steering committee to review the detailed plug & abandonment program and safety procedures as submitted by a selected contractor.
Review APICO's Well profile and provide the mitigation plan to comply with code or safety standard.
Perform project management and control while the P&A conducting at site.
Provide any other related support that may be needed and assigned by APICO
Qualification :
35 years old and above
BSc / MSc degree in Petroleum / Well / Mechanical Engineering
5- 10 years of significant experience in an oil and gas industry with Workover and P&A and Well intervention projects.
Must have Hydraulic Workover Unit experience and previous field experience.
Must have knowledge on NORSOK/UKOOA-Oil & Gas UK /API standards.
Experience working in H2S environment is a must.
Technical writing skills are essential
